FOR PROFESSIONAL USE

BETANIX® 6000 is a revolutionary system with technologically advanced formulations for mold control and for the elimination and prevention of mold, mildew, and termite infestations in existing and new structures.

Our product line BETANIX® 6000 (the New Moldwash® Formula) for pest and mold control is a registered trade name for a unique treatment and is a trade secret formula used to protect wood structures from damage caused by termite, mold and fungus.

It is a US EPA certified product, is non-toxic to humans and provides a broad range of efficacy against all species of termites, including the voracious Formosan termite, wood boring beetles, fungi and mold, unlike many current pesticide products.

This is the original product on the market with mold and termite resistant characteristics all in one. The product can be used to treat both existing homes and new homes, utilizing current equipment and standard methods by the Pest Control Industry and Professional Mold Remediators.

Traditional mold remediation products offer only short-term topical treatments that do not prevent the re-growth of toxic molds and re-infestation of termites. Instead of simply remediating existing damage, BETANIX® 6000 actively protects wood structures from damage caused by termites, mold and fungus.

A Five Minute Solution

Betanix® 6000 was found to reduce the population of Aspergillus niger and Stachybotrys chartarum mold spores by 99.99% or greater in less than 5 minutes on glass, wood and gypsum wallboard facing and stops mold and mildew re-growth.

BETANIX® 6000 when applied as a spray or foam, eliminates all types of mold and mildew, and is an exceptional treatment of termite infestations. BETANIX® 6000 when applied by injection through drywall minimizes damage caused by tearing out drywall that is not damaged by mold (drywall damaged by mold has to be removed even when using the BETANIX® 6000 injection system). BETANIX® 6000 allows for the use of treated facilities within minutes of treatment, not days. BETANIX® 6000 forms a film of active ingredients, which are activated once mold or mildew spores try to feed on the substrate. In order for fungal and mold spores to colonize surface moisture is required, this very surface moisture is what activates the ingredients of BETANIX® 6000 thus preventing any further spread of the fungal and mold spores and killing off the existing spores which ingest the active ingredients. BETANIX® 6000 applied as foam penetrates treated cellulose surfaces to various depths dependent on its surface moisture content and the wood species.

Provides protection you can't see.

The mode of action for BETANIX® 6000 is that of a metabolic inhibitor in fungi and molds causing a breakdown in the normal feeding cycle of these organisms. The active ingredients in BETANIX® 6000 do not breakdown, therefore as normal moisture changes occur in the wood BETANIX® 6000 is always present to be drawn deeper into the wood over time, providing long-lasting protection.

What can it be used for?

Molds and fungi can infect and rapidly destroy wood and other surfaces exposed to continuing moisture. Some molds and fungi can actively transport moisture from the ground or a leak to wood and other surfaces of lower moisture content in efforts to expand their colonization. BETANIX® 6000 is highly toxic to mold and fungi and will kill the mold and fungi present on contact and protect against future infections.

The moisture problems that led to the infestation or that may do so in the future must be corrected. This includes correcting moisture leaks, providing adequate ventilation and moisture barriers.

Structural applications

Spray or Foam

BETANIX® 6000 can be applied in wall voids by injection through the drywall surface as foam to contact the drywall and wood surfaces of the studs in the wall or target area. BETANIX® 6000 can also be applied as foam directly to surfaces, joints and injected into void areas such as studded and block walls, where possible, it is recommended that the foam be placed between wood joints or abutting wood surfaces. BETANIX® 6000 as a foam can be used as a soil treatment. The foam must be of a sufficient consistency that will allow it to adhere to a surface with minimal run-off.

Technical information

BETANIX® 6000 has been thoroughly tested by the EPA and registered by it, after over five (5) years of testing as an approved product for preventative and remedial treatment of mold and wood destroying fungi for application as a solution or as foam.

BETANIX® 6000 will not corrode metals normally used in construction. This includes ferrous metals, galvanized metals, screws and nails. BETANIX® 6000 will not affect shielded or unshielded electrical wiring; however, it is recommended that application of BETANIX® 6000 be completed prior to wiring. If the wiring has been completed and the electricity connected prior to application, electrical power must be turned off prior to the application of BETANIX® 6000.

Fungi, mildews, mold and wood rots are the result of either a high moisture content in the wood (wood rots) or the lack of adequate air circulation (ventilation) in the case of mildew and molds. A 'mustiness' or damp odor may be associated with these conditions. When BETANIX® 6000 is applied; the increased moisture may enhance this odor. When possible, consider using fans or increasing ventilation to reduce the odor.

When mildew and mold fungi are present, the spraying of areas where there is active growth of fungi may cause some fungi spores to become airborne. Mold spores can cause reactions in people allergic to these organisms. Make sure applications are performed at the recommended pressures, or consider using BETANIX® 6000 treated paint as the application to areas of active growth to reduce the possibility of creating airborne fungi or mold spores.

BETANIX® 6000 should only be applied to bare, unsealed wood, drywall, plywood (and such other engineered wood products). Further, it may be applied to other cellulose materials where an intact water repellent barrier such as paint, stain or a sealer is not present. Dirt, debris and any existing water repellent finish must be removed to allow a full absorption of BETANIX® 6000 into the wood. After the wood is cleaned it must be allowed to dry before making any application of BETANIX® 6000. Treated wood must be machined, shaped, painted and glued prior to application of BETANIX® 6000.

Foam application to sealed surfaces must be avoided. Should this happen accidentally, a white residue of BETANIX®6000 may appear once the surface has dried. This can be removed with hot water and a cloth - do not use solvent based cleaners.

BETANIX® 6000 will not discolor most wood and is compatible with most paints and sealants. If the aesthetic look of the wood is a concern, it is suggested that a small, non-visible area be tested for discoloration prior to application. Allow the section to dry and if there is no damage, proceed with the application.
